Default full battery charge time??

Hi All...

I wanted to know how much time does it take usually for the battery of SG2 to charge completely from 1 or 2 % to 100% of the battery charge??

I am not sure if mine has some problem..I tried charging my fone n it took me 2hrs 30 min for getting 100% from 2% of charge...is it normal or do you have other experience??

Any answers and suggestions would be helpful

Thanks,
DJay

If you are charging via USB rather than the mains charger, or using the phone whilst charging (or there is a badly behaving app running in the background) it can take significantly longer especially if using gps and wifi.

Thanks!
Do u think it's normal if the phone discharges 3% during 8 hours, when it was OFF all the time?

3% drop in 8 hours if powered off does seem a little high, however it depends how old your battery is and also some of that apparent drop may just be down to how the remaining capacity is measured.
It is quite common for it to register a drop of 1-2% from being turned off and on again, sometimes the capacity can even appear to increase over time by a few % without being attached to a power source when switched back on so that 3% could be within the usual margin of error.
The battery will lose charge over time even if not used but I would expect a battery in good condition to hold its charge for several weeks, for longer periods of inactivity it is advisable to remove the batterty from the phone.

As a point of reference, my phone when powered up but idle uses less than 1% / hour when in a good reception area

Thanks so much!

I also noticed that 1/2 hour using screen leads to 4% drop. Looks too high? My phone was bought with ICS and I read a lot of comments that this new s/w can increase battery discharge. However, screen usage has nothing to do with s/w (?)

I wonder if installing Easy Battery Saver can help and if it's risky because of endless permissions. Also, not sure if it was tested for ICS version...

The display is rather power hungry, the downside of having such a good display. I usually keep mine on minimum brightness unless in bright daylight (auto brightness tends to set it higher than neccessary in lower light levels). I don't bother with any battery savers or task killers, but have enabled both the default and custom power saving settings on the phone.
