You must gave added a Google account when you activated the phone, you need a Google account to use the market. The account entered and active would be the account that needs entering to unlock the device.
If you can't remember the account you'll have to do a factory reset from the stock recovery mode...
Hold the power button down for 8 seconds to turn the phone off, holding the home button and volume up turn the phone on holding the power button until you see the Samsung Galaxy SII logo. At this point release the power button only keeping the the home button and volume up pressed, you should then see the stock recovery menu appear which I believe is in green (can't remember as I have a CWM based recovery), release the home button and volume up and use the volume to navigate to factory reset and use the home button to select.
Warning- This will wipe your phone of all user data including contacts, SMS, user accounts, installed applications etc.
