Unable to Browse the Internet on Wi-Fi
I have a Samsung Galaxy GT-I9100 bought in India in June. I have had wi-fi issues right from the start. The basic problem I face is:
- If I connect to a Wi-Fi network (I have tried a lot of "home" and public networks in malls, coffee shops, etc), I am able to connect - which means, my device obtains an IP address and shows connected. The strength is generally good.
- However, I am unable to open anything related to the Net - gmail, gtalk, webpages, market, FB. The application shows that there is no network connection.
I tried using wi-fi fixer (by Zanshin-g1). But when wi-fixer is running, the device does not even obtain an IP and it just keeps resetting the wi-fi.
I was hoping the issue would be fixed with an OS update. However, it is persisting even after the XWKL1 update in India.
I want to check whether there is anything else that can be done. The only other option left for me seems to be to ask for a replacement within my warranty duration; however that is a pain here and I do not wish to take that route unless forced to.
Please help and advise.
