The yellow triangle just means your running on an unsecure kernel, if you want to get rid of it you can download a secure kernel or use a jig to remove it. when i rooted mine I had to run the root software twice as it would root the first time.

P.S. you can still get updates from kies or flash though oden3 if you cant wait for kies.

Hope this helps

Just use Odin to flash any kernel with root like CF-root, easiest way IMO.

This is a USB Jig.

A very useful thing if you are going to root or going to be flashing custom ROM's. It can be used to force a bricked/semi-bricked GS2 into download mode, it can clear your flash counter if the phone has to be returned for warranty and finally it can be used to remove what some people deem the ugly yellow triangle after rooting your phone.
A USB Jig can be used on a number of Samsung devices and for a few pounds/dollars it's well worth investing in if you're gong to be rooting or flashing your phone.

Triangle away its good for those who want to just be rid of the yellow triangle but it can't force a soft-bricked Samsung device into download mode.
I'd still recommend anybody rooting and flashing ROM's to purchase a USB jig, you can't go wrong for a few pounds/dollars even if you don't ever use it.

If you have flashed the wrong kernel you should still be able to boot the phone into download mode and recovery mode, a wrong kernel would have to be for another OS because kernels are pretty forgiving.
A kernel for Gingerbread will not work on an IceCream Sandwich OS and vise versa.

Try booting to recovery and wiping the coach and then go into the Advanced menu and wiping Dalvik cache, now reboot.
If the doesn't work then you'll have yo try flashing an alternative kernel.
