Go to the app tray by pressing the Applications button in the dock, fund the application My files and select it. This is a file manager and can navigate both the internal user memory, sometimes known as internal sd card and the external memory if you have added your own sd card; this is sometimes known a USB storage.
The My files app will start on the root of the internal sd card, to get to the user installed sd card scroll to external_sd and select.

I would suggest first creating a folder called "pictures" on the root of the sd card, press menu and select Create folder. You will be promoted to name the folder so as I said let's name "Pictures", without the " " and select OK. Now you can enter that folder by pressing it, inside that folder either place your pictures or create more folders in the same way as before.

If you create the pictures folder and other folders inside, the gallery app will only display folders containing pictures and will not display a folder containing folders.

Hope that helps.

Using "My files", go to DCIM and then the Camera folder. Press menu and select "Move", now select the pictures you want too move and then press "Move" at the bottom.
The "My files" app will re-open at the root of the internal sd card, navigate to the folder you created and then select "Move here" and it'll paste the pictures there.

Hope that helps!

As an ex-iPhone user, I would really like it (and hope that ICS does this) if we could make folders on the fly while actually in the Gallery. Not sure why we can't.

I love my Skyrocket and with the exception of this, the goofy way pictures are handled like video in text messages and the lack of real group messaging in text (ie reply all), I am beyond pleased. I am willing to deal with these inconveniences for a more open system. But, I would like to see them resolved.

Gallery- because it's for viewing and not file editing! :-\

Yes, because we all know that administrators never move pictures in a gallery, nor do they like to arrange them in logical orders.
