Hello, I'm new here and I'm also new to the smartphone world, I must admit, I love this phone and I'm trying to do more and more with it.

My latest quest is to print wirelessly to my HP officejet J4680 printer which has 802.11 (sorry I don't even know what it stands for) all I know is that it has wireless capability.

I know I will have to run the device software on my computer.

My question is, once it's "setup" can I print directly from my phone to the printer or do I need a wireless router to make the connection.

Sorry if this sounds noob but that's where I'm at.

I don't think you'll be able to print from your phone to your printer even with the WiFi router as you are installing drivers on your computer. You phone will need drivers to work. If it was a samsung printer you could as samsung has an app now (I have an awesome Canon so I'm out of luck). You can try the HP iPrint Photo app from Market and let us know how it works out.

I´ve just downloaded the application , and it works great.The printer is a cheap Hp wireless F4500.

Currently HP only release the app which can print and scan available to iPhone.
For Android it can only print.
Hope that HP will release the new update which support scanning function.
