Default Email trash deletion

Hey everyone, how do I empty the trash emails at the same time ?

Is there a way I can mark them all and delete in one stroke OR do I have to manually delete every email ?

Thanks in advance Jaz

In the email list, press...

Menu> Delete, your emails will have check boxes next to them so tick the boxes of the emails you want to delete and then press delete in the bottom left of the screen or cancel if you change your mind.

I can't believe Google hasn't put an empty trash option.

But then you would have to delete them one by one....I have a lot of old emails in the Trash. How can I delete them all in one go ?

Thanks

In the same way, at the top of you're email list you should have a box titled "Inbox". Tap it to change folders, select Trash and do the same as above.
Yes it's annoying that there is no select all feature but if you want a more comprehensive email client, try K9 Mail from the Android market.
Has many options and configurations and if you're rooted you could always delete the stock Android email client and just use K9.

I used to use K9 but prefer the stock.

I used K9 on my X10i and deleted the stock but I've stuck with the stock on my SGS2, do miss the options K9 provides though.

Just thought I'd give you an update on the email deletion....I had to delete every email one by one that was in the TRASH folder....just over 1,500 of them !!!

When I got stuck in it became a challenge!! Took me around 20-30 mins. Needless to say I empty the trash folder daily :-)

Thought there might have been an update on this. It does seem incredible that there is no 'empty trash' or 'mark all' feature. It must be Google deliberate policy.
