I should be thankful I bought a Samsung Galaxy S2 for I have tried all possible methods to factory reset my phone but it just rebooted normally as if nothing happened. The weird thing is that it always reloads to a particular time setting. Any changes (messages, contacts, logs, apps) would be lost after that date. Even apps that I have uninstalled would reappear!
It started (I think...) when my Dolphin Browser was automatically updated to a newer version (can't remember what version that was). After that, Force Close errors started appearing.
I'm running a rooted Android 2.3.4 with kernel version 126.96.36.199-I9100XXKG1-CL349526 se.infra@SEP-39 #2
I have installed ClockWorkMod v2.0 which I tried profusely to practically "brick" my phone but it wouldn't budge. This is one tough mother******* phone I should say (well, at least mine is...).
I've tried reflashing from CWM and Download Mode to ICS 4.0 but after it "successfully" flashed, the phone rebooted to the old kernel with all the old settings and apps. So my phone is practically stuck in time.
I can't flash it back to factory settings so I can't send it back to the shop.
Guys! Is there a light at the end of the tunnel? Can someone please help me...
I'm quite savvy in computers, phones, and basic electronics. Suggest anything! I'll try it!
