Just like HTC and LG, Samsung is currently reluctant to provide specific details regarding future Android 2.3 Gingerbread updates for its smartphones.
For example, talking to Pocket-lint about the popular Galaxy S2 line, someone at Samsung UK said that, at the moment, it’s unsure whether or not the handsets will get the newest version of Google’s Android OS.
However, according to Samsung Mobile India’s Twitter account, “Gingerbeard will be available for Galaxy S2 users” – see here and here (that’s a double confirmation).
Unfortunately, there’s no word when exactly Gingerbread updates will be rolled-out for the Galaxy S2. It may last longer than users would want – especially since some Galaxy S2 units are only now getting Android 2.2 Froyo.
