Default Transfer or Copy Movies and Musics to Samsung Galaxy S2

After the conversion from videos, Blu-rays or DVDs to Samsung Galaxy S2 MP4 for display, the users could still be confused about the next step: How can I transfer or copy the movies and musics to Samsung Galaxy S2? How to sync the movies/musics to my Samsung GT-I9000. Now in order to help these Samsung Galaxy S2 I9000 users to put and transfer their videos or musics from PC toGalaxy S2 successfully, just write this short guide to show you the way.

Step1: Prepare your movies and musics. Then ensure that Samsung Kies is installed on your PC, which is a 140MB program that allows you to sync stuff to your phone, as well as allowing wired tethering. (And you can download it here: Samsung Kies.)

Step2: Then connect your Samsung Galaxy S2 on to your computer via USB. (Ensure that your memory card is inserted if you want to store movies/musics in the card.)

Step3: Take you phone, in Idle mode, open the application list and select Settings ? About phone ? USB settings ? Mass storage. (There are four modes like Samsung Kies, Media Player, Mass Storage, and PC internet. You just want to copy/paste files on the phone, so just select Mass Storage.)

Step4: Select mount button to mount you phone to PC. Once mounted, on the computer, open the drivethat represents your device. It should be in My Computer/Computer for Windows users. (You can select either the memory card drive, or the phone drive, depending on which drive you are saving the movies/musics to.)

Step5: Create a folder named Movie or Music in the root folder on the Samsung Galaxy S2. (This is just for organizational purposes, it is optional.)

Step5: Transfer or Copy the movies/video or musics from PC into the Movie or Music folder.

Step6: After copying movies or musics to Samsung Galaxy S2, unmount the removable disk (that is, the connected phone) as required by your computerís operating system to safely remove your phone.

Now the movies and musics can be played on your Samsung Galaxy S2 using the Gallery application.

Note: There are three situations you can not play the videos on Samsung Galaxy S2 successfully.
1. You movie formats are not supported by your Samsung Galaxy S2, maybe they are MKV, TiVo, VOB, TP, TS, MPEG-2, M2TS, AVI, ASF, MXF, MOV, etc, so you need to convert the movies into Samsung Galaxy S2 compatible format H.264 MP4. Aunsoft Samsung Galaxy S2 Video Converter can help you. And this article can tell you how to convert/play video to Samsung Galaxy S2.

2. You movie size is over 2GB. The Samsung Galaxy S2 does not like video file sizes over 2GB. So just lower your video size.

3. Your source video is over 480*800, this resolution can not play back on Samsung Galaxy S2. So you must be sure to set the width and height to a maximum of 480 *800.

Hope you have a pleasure movie enjoyment.

Sorry but your link for the Samsung Kies is not valid - I downloaded a legal digital copy of Thor to Windows Media Player and the phone does not sync with the .wmv files.

If I can find the Kies for the PC that may work but my search has only found a mobile version.

The main reason I bought the phone was to watch movies - now I find that I cannot?

Help!!!

I use Format Factory its FREE and will convert a incredible amount of formats and you can set up settings for your Samsung S2 (customs)
http://www.formatoz.com/

I use these settings :

You can select a lower bitrate on the video stream if you wish..
And once the video is converted to the right video screen size and format (.avi works fine), just copy it over to your SGS2
You don't need to enable Encode 2 Pass, the settings I use is enough (also Encode Pass 2 will take a lot longer, I didn't notice any difference)
Good thing about Format Factory is you can tweak the settings...
I convert all my Movies using this program and have set up difference customs for Movies, Music.. you can even rip Music from Videos with this program and convert them easy to MP3...

Enjoy....

Hi,
i have just got my Galaxy S2, and was looking forward to upload a digital copy of Up.
I entered the activation code and saved the file to my computer, it did ask to update window media player, which i dont know if i did or not.
Now when i add it to my phone either by using USB it tells me that acquisition failed, or if i upload through kies it shows a picture of the file with a lock above it and DRM highlighted.
Is there any way to fix this or does the galaxy s2 not support this. I Was going to buy Fast and Furoius 5 and inception for the triple play option but i am now thinking is this worth it if i cant get it to work

Just make sure the Movie is converted ( .avi ) before uploading to your phone.
